But we definitely wanted to see the cities of Cape Town and Johannesburg, take a ride along the Garden Route, go for a game in Kruger National Park and finally we were looking for a way to make a short detour to the Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe. For this we had taken 3 weeks vacation and created the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/maps\/d\/viewer?mid=1y3AEkO2DD-VEybw99aGZ0BfdBwly8W4B&amp;ll=-26.422083469260453%2C22.967314410668905&amp;z=5\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" class=\"extern matomo_link wpel-icon-right\">following route<span class=\"wpel-icon wpel-image wpel-icon-3\"><\/span><\/a> with a lot of pushing back and forth:<\/p>\n<p>&raquo; <strong>Cape Town (Sightseeing)<\/strong> &#8211; <em>5 nights<\/em><br \/>\n&raquo; <strong>Hermanus (Garden Route)<\/strong> &#8211; <em>1 night<\/em><br \/>\n&raquo; <strong>Mossel Bay (Private Game Reserve)<\/strong> &#8211; <em>3 nights<\/em><br \/>\n&raquo; <strong>Hazyview (Panorama Route)<\/strong> &#8211; <em>2 nights<\/em><br \/>\n&raquo; <strong>Kruger National Park (Safari)<\/strong> &#8211; <em>3 nights<\/em><br \/>\n&raquo; <strong>Thohoyandou (intermediate stop)<\/strong> &#8211; <em>1 night<\/em><br \/>\n&raquo; <strong>Pretoria &amp; Johannesburg (Sightseeing)<\/strong> &#8211; <em>1 night<\/em><br \/>\n&raquo; <strong>Victoria Falls (Zimbabwe &amp; Zambia Page)<\/strong> &#8211; <em>2 nights<\/em><\/p>\n<p><iframe src=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/maps\/d\/embed?mid=1y3AEkO2DD-VEybw99aGZ0BfdBwly8W4B\" width=\"640\" height=\"580\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>We had first searched for a flight combination from &#8220;Frankfurt to Cape Town&#8221; for the outcoming flight and from &#8220;Johannesburg to Frankfurt&#8221; for the return flight. But such a fork flight would have been quite expensive. In the end, we decided to fly back and forth from Frankfurt to Johannesburg with Lufthansa and booked the flights to Cape Town and the Victoria Falls separately.<\/p>\n<p>In total, we had 6 flights for this trip, which looked like this:<\/p>\n<p>&raquo; <strong>Frankfurt &gt; Johannesburg<\/strong> &#8211; <em>Lufthansa<\/em> &#8211; 318 \u20ac<br \/>\n&raquo; <strong>Johannesburg &gt; Cape Town<\/strong> &#8211; <em>Mango Airlines<\/em> &#8211; 62 \u20ac<br \/>\n&raquo; <strong>George &gt; Johannesburg<\/strong> &#8211; <em>Kululu Airlines<\/em> &#8211; 60 \u20ac<br \/>\n&raquo; <strong>Johannesburg &gt; Victoria Falls<\/strong> &#8211; <em>Air Zimbabwe<\/em> &#8211; 137 \u20ac<br \/>\n&raquo; <strong>Victoria Falls &gt; Johannesburg<\/strong> &#8211; <em>Air Zimbabwe<\/em> &#8211; 137 \u20ac<br \/>\n&raquo; <strong>Johannesburg &gt; Frankfurt<\/strong> &#8211; <em>Lufthansa<\/em> &#8211; 318 \u20ac<\/p>\n<p>For all flights together we paid <strong>almost 1,000 \u20ac<\/strong> per person. <\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"our-flight-from-frankfurt-to-cape-town\"><\/span>Our flight from Frankfurt to Cape Town<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The flight from Frankfurt to Johannesburg was in <strong>an A380 from Lufthansa<\/strong> and lasted a good 10.5 hours. We arrived in Johannesburg for just under 2.5 hours of stopovers. After entering the country, which is quick and easy for German citizens with our passport, we had to change to the Domestic Terminal. It was especially important to us not to have a gear shift, but to rent an automatic vehicle in order to be able to concentrate completely on the traffic. Over <a href=\"https:\/\/one-million-places.com\/en\/go\/billiger-mietwagen\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" class=\"extern matomo_link wpel-icon-right\">billiger-mietwagen.de<span class=\"wpel-icon wpel-image wpel-icon-3\"><\/span><\/a> we had booked a rental car in the class VW Polo, which we could pick up directly at the airport in Cape Town near Hertz. For a <strong>rental period of 10 days<\/strong> we paid <strong>282 euros<\/strong> with all insurances. From here you can explore the most important parts of the city on foot. During this time we were able to park our rental car in the guarded hotel car park for a daily fee. We liked the hotel room very much.
