When we arrived in Salt Lake City in the early afternoon, we moved into our hotel room at Shilo Inns Suites (now called <a href=\"https:\/\/one-million-places.com\/en\/go\/holiday-inn-express-salt-lake-city-downtown\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" class=\"extern matomo_link wpel-icon-right\">Holiday Inn Express Salt Lake City Downtown<span class=\"wpel-icon wpel-image wpel-icon-3\"><\/span><\/a>) and then wanted to explore the city. <\/p>\n<div id=\"jig1\" The city was founded by Mormons in 1847 and is still considered the center of <strong>The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.<\/strong> Temple Square, which is located in the middle of the city, is therefore also the most visited attraction in Utah &#8211; especially by religious tourists. All around, the square is surrounded by office buildings. We started with a short stopover in the megacity Chicago. From there we continued by plane to Los Angeles and from there by rental car via Las Vegas, Zion National Park, Bryce Canyon, Salt Lake City and Yellowstone National Park to Denver. For the last leg of our trip we went to the East Coast, where we visited New York, Philadelphia and Washington D.C.
