It is an <strong>important tourist resort on the Romantic Road<\/strong>, the now internationally known German holiday route. The road stretches over 29 villages and 460 km \u2013 starting on the Main in W\u00fcrzburg over the west of Franconia to Bayerisch-Schwaben, through a piece of Upper Bavarian territory to the Ostallg\u00e4u to F\u00fcssen. <\/p>\n<p>The Old Town of Dinkelsb\u00fchl has been awarded the <strong>European<\/strong> Cultural Heritage Heritage By the EU&#8217;s European Heritage Label initiative. This state award is given to cultural monuments, cultural landscapes or memorials that are considered significant at European level. The special thing about Dinkelsb\u00fchl is that of the 780-house old town, almost 75% of the houses are older than 350 years.  <\/p>\n<p><iframe src=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/maps\/embed?pb=!1m18!1m12!1m3!1d118306.53179310924!2d10.274125513145323!3d49.06326802167497!2m3!1f0!2f0!3f0!3m2!1i1024!2i768!4f13.1!3m3!1m2!1s0x4798e8022725ad09%3A0x5eac66f7b3ee9fc1!2s91550%20Dinkelsb%C3%BChl!5e0!3m2!1sde!2sde!4v1595965480049!5m2!1sde!2sde\" width=\"1200\" height=\"350\" frameborder=\"0\" style=\"border:0;\" allowfullscreen=\"\" aria-hidden=\"false\" tabindex=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"the-sights-in-dinkelsbuhl\"><\/span>The sights in Dinkelsb\u00fchl<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>We started our walk through the old town of Dinkelsb\u00fchl at the free parking lot P2 &#8220;Stadtm\u00fchle&#8221; (link in <a href=\"https:\/\/goo.gl\/maps\/25K9jS4VbSYQpNom6\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" class=\"extern matomo_link wpel-icon-right\">Google Maps<span class=\"wpel-icon wpel-image wpel-icon-3\"><\/span><\/a>), which is located outside the city wall directly at the N\u00f6rdlinger Tor. There is even a free public toilet and the way to the old town is not far away. In the old town, by the way, you can park free of charge in designated parking spaces for 60 minutes with a parking disc. Since this was not enough for us to explore the city, we preferred to put ourselves on the other parking lot, where there is no time limit.<\/p>\n<p>During our city tour we have based ourselves on the <a href=\"https:\/\/one-million-places.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/deutschland\/stadtrundgang_dinkelsbuehl.pdf\" rel=\"noopener follow\" target=\"_self\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\" class=\"noicon\">city map<\/a> of Tourismus Dinkelsb\u00fchl, which can also be found online on their website. Here there is an &#8220;Inner City Tour&#8221; through the old town as well as an &#8220;Outer City Tour&#8221; along the city walls. The fact that the city wall is still so beautifully preserved today is the merit of King Ludwig I of Bavaria and his monument legislation.  <\/p>\n<p>Leaving the old town to the north through the Rothenburg Gate, you will reach the <strong>Rothenburg pond,<\/strong>which is a beautiful green oasis right next to the city wall. The west side of the wine market is surrounded by <strong>beautiful, colourful gabled houses,<\/strong> including the Deutsche Haus, the former Schranne cereal store and the former Ratstrinkstube.<\/p>\n<p>In contrast to other cities at that time, there was no central marketplace in Dinkelsb\u00fchl but market streets, which were reserved in individual sections for the trade in different products. especially very farnefrohe &#8211; photo motifs \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>Zeughaus of the Dinkelsb\u00fchler Kinderzeche<\/strong> was originally a granary at the beginning of the 16th century. Since 2007, the half-timbered building has been used as a storage room for the Kinderzech fundus. The <strong>youth hostel<\/strong> on Koppengasse is housed in a beautiful old half-timbered house, which used to also serve as a granary. Today, up to 100 people can stay here. At the Segringer Tor there is the small, at first glance somewhat inconspicuous <strong>Dreik\u00f6nigskapelle<\/strong> from 1378. Today there is a memorial in the church for the victims of the Nazi regime. The inscriptions of these shops all follow the same writing style and were painted directly on the houses. In addition, there is a predetermined window design and the roofs of the old town houses must be covered in red.
