The island St. Thomas belongs beside Saint Croix and Saint John to the American Virgin Islands in the south-eastern Caribbean. The island is also home to Charlotte Amalie, the capital of the region. More than 50.000 inhabitants live on Saint Thomas. The island captivates by one of the most beautiful harbours worldwide and has some fantastic beaches. The road network is well developed, but there is left-hand traffic. The most famous sights are Blackbeard’s Castle in Charlotte Amalie, Water Island, Fort Christian, Magens Bay, Honeymoon Beach, Phantasea Tropical Botanical Garden, St. Thomas Synagogue and Coral World Ocean Park.
