Mauritius lies in the southwestern part of the Indian Ocean. The island La Réunion that belongs to France is located approximately 200 km to the west and the Seychelles are located approximately 1.750 km further to the north. The distance to the island Madagascar is 870 kilometres, to the African mainland about 1.700 kilometres, to the Indian south point about 3.850 kilometres and to the Australian west coast more than 5.700 kilometres. Mauritius, a green island in the Indian Ocean, has a lot to offer: the paradisiacal beaches, reefs and lagoons, the lively capital Port Louis, countless waterfalls, the seven-coloured earth, the enchanted botanical garden and much more. There is a lot to discover here and we tell you about our experiences.
