One of our biggest hobbies on our travels is snorkeling and diving, besides photography. Especially on our trip around the world we have been able to experience some of the most beautiful snorkeling and diving spots in the world like the Galapagos Islands, St. Kitts, Hawaii, Fiji, Tahiti, Moorea, Bora Bora, Bali, Cancun, Zanzibar and of course the Great Barrier Reef in Australia. But also beyond our world trip we always try to include diving in our holidays and have been here already in the Komodo National Park in Indonesia, the Philippines, the Ningaloo Reef and of course several times at the Red Sea in Egypt. Meanwhile we have recorded 130 dives in our logbook.
Diving on the West Coast of Mauritius with Pro Dive (Mauritius)
Even though we were only in Mauritius for a week, we as enthusiastic divers did not want to miss the underwater world of the island in the Indian Ocean. For our 2 dives on the west coast we had chosen the dive center Pro Dive Mauritius.

When we first arrived in the Maldives at Veligandu Island Resort in 2012, we didn’t have a diving license. We did our PADI Open Water course only one year later at the Atmosphere Resort in the Philippines. But since we liked the underwater world of the Maldives already at that time while snorkeling, it was clear to us that we definitely want to dive here again.

When we studied Palau before our trip, we often encountered the name Peleliu. Peleliu is a state of Palaus and is located about 50 kilometers southwest of the city of Koror. The island had interested us for two reasons: On the one hand, some of the most beautiful dive sites of Palaus are to be found here and on the other hand you can see some relics from the Second World War.

On today’s diving day, when we already had two dives in the southern lagoon, we went back to the diving school of Fish ‘n Fins. Here we briefly loaded new diving bottles onto the boat, because today we wanted to take advantage of the opportunity to do a third dive. This usually goes to Jake Seaplane, just 5 minutes from Koror. We didn’t want to miss that. On Aruba we already had the opportunity to see a plane underwater and were …

The dive site German Channel is at least as famous as the Blue Corner. This is mainly due to the fact that the German Channel is considered THE Manta Hot Spot in Palau. And on the other hand, maybe a little because of his story, how it came about and how he got his name.

Today we set off at the bridgetown cruise terminal in Barbados at around 6.30am. With us there were three other ships in the port: the TUI Discovery, a ship of the Costa shipping company and the Christina O., originally a ship of the rich shipping family Onassis. Our captain told us in his morning address (usually around 8 o’clock) that Christina O. is now a charter yacht and can be rented for up to 450,000 € PER WEEK. So if …

After the two dives at Boss Reef this morning, our dive trip with the AIDA would have ended. But since we originally thought when booking the trip that we would go diving this morning at the famous underwater sculpture park of Jason de Caires Taylor, the AIDA crew had a great suggestion for both of us: in the afternoon we should make a trip with snorkelers and taster divers to the underwater sculpture park and they asked us if we …
