For today we had booked a diving trip on the west coast of Big Island. Since it didn’t start until 3 p.m., we still had a bit of time to explore the island.

One of our biggest hobbies on our travels is snorkeling and diving, besides photography. Especially on our trip around the world we have been able to experience some of the most beautiful snorkeling and diving spots in the world like the Galapagos Islands, St. Kitts, Hawaii, Fiji, Tahiti, Moorea, Bora Bora, Bali, Cancun, Zanzibar and of course the Great Barrier Reef in Australia. But also beyond our world trip we always try to include diving in our holidays and have been here already in the Komodo National Park in Indonesia, the Philippines, the Ningaloo Reef and of course several times at the Red Sea in Egypt. Meanwhile we have recorded 130 dives in our logbook.
Maui – Diving & exploring the West Coast (USA)
Today the alarm clock rang already at 4.40 am, because we had booked a diving trip on the west coast of Maui via B&B Scuba and meeting point was already at 5.45 am.

Since this had not worked with the diving in Belize due to health reasons, we wanted to do 2 more dives in Cancun. Our NYX Hotel Cancun recommended the diving center Marina Aquaworld, which had 2 dive sites to allocate for the next trip.

We first came into contact with the topic of “diving” in 2013 at the Sipadan Kapalai Dive Resort on Borneo. In the resort we did a Discover Scuba Dive for the first time in addition to the daily schoring… and equally seen turtles and an octopus up close. This fascinated us so much that we were determined: we want to make a PADI diving license! 🙂

When booking sipadan Kapalai Dive Resort, you have to decide whether to book a diving package or snorkeler package. Since we didn’t have a diving license yet, we chose the snorkeler package.
