Travel Reports » Finland

Finland has about 5.5 million inhabitants and is located in Northern Europe, with one third of the country north of the Arctic Circle. Finland is one of the least populated countries in Europe, with the majority of the population living in the southern part. The capital is Helsinki and other major cities are Espoo, Tampere, Vantaa and Turku. About 10% of the country’s surface consists of larger and smaller lakes, which is why Finland is often called the “Land of a Thousand Lakes”. The country is also known for its northern lights, the midnight sun, the Finnish sauna and a lot of untouched nature.
