The Kingdom of Sweden is located in Northern Europe and includes the eastern part of the Scandinavian Peninsula and the islands of Gotland and Öland. In the west the Swedish territory borders on Norway, in the north on Finland, in the east lies the Baltic Sea, in the southwest the sea Kattegat. Sweden is a very elongated country: from north to south it stretches over more than 1,550 km, from west to east at most 499 km. Sweden is also known for its many islands – after all, there are more than 220,000, including many small rocky islands, the so-called archipelagos. More than 10 million people live in Sweden. 88 % of them live in the city, e.g. in the capital Stockholm, in Gothenburg, Malmö or Uppsala.
