Today at 10am our plane with Virgin Australia went from Melbourne in Australia to Nadi on the island of Fiji – our first destination in the South Seas. This was the 32nd flight of our world tour and it lasted a good 5 hours.

At the beginning of 2014 we had the wish to take a break from our long term jobs and go on a 6 month world trip. After long planning and preparation the adventure began for us on December 15th 2014 in Iceland and took us across the Caribbean to South America, Central America, Hawaii, Australia & New Zealand, the South Seas, on to Asia and finally to Africa. Our goal was to circumnavigate the world in 6 months and see some of the most interesting and significant places on this planet. Tavewa Island – Our stay at the Coralview Island Resort (Fiji)
The most attractive destinations for tourists are the small resort islands on the Mamanucas, the Yasawas or the beaches of the Coral Coast on the main island of Viti Levu. For our first 4 nights we chose the Coralview Island Resort on the island of Tavewa in the very north of the Yasawa Islands.

After our Helihike tour to the Franz Josef Glacier had to be cancelled this morning due to too strong winds, the employee of the agency “The Helicoper Line” immediately called a friendly provider in Fox Glacier Village and reserved us two places for the Helihike at 2 pm. At the Fox Glacier, all helicopters were able to take off today, as the wind there does not affect anything. But again lucky! 🙂
