Today, with the AIDA, we made a small stop in Europe. Our destination was the town of Pointe-a-Pietre on the island of Guadeloupe, The French overseas department and part of the EU. And best of all, you can even pay with the euro here – in the middle of the Caribbean 🙂

Together with the mainland bridge of Central America, the Caribbean islands form the Central America between North and South America. The Caribbean islands include the archipelagos of the Greater Antilles (Cuba, Jamaica, Cayman Islands, Jamaica, Haiti, Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico), the Lesser Antilles (including Barbados, St. Kitts, Guadeloupe, Martinique, St. Vincent, Grenada, Trinidad, Aruba, Bonaire, Curacao, etc.) and the Bahamas. Central America includes Belize, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua and Panama.
Dominica – Dolphins, Whale-Watching & the capital Roseau (Dominica)
Our current stop was Dominica – The Nature Island of the Caribbean. The small Caribbean island has received this advertising slogan due to its lush and species-rich flora and fauna. At the same time, the saying is intended to avoid confusion with the Dominican Republic, which is much more well-known.

Like Barbados, St. Lucia was not new territory for us. We also visited this island on our Carnival tour two years ago as part of our world tour. Since we had already undertaken the classic island tour with pitons, sulfur springs etc., we wanted to get to know the underwater world this time.

Today we set off at the bridgetown cruise terminal in Barbados at around 6.30am. Our destination today was the Caribbean island of St. Vincent, a small island with just 117,000 inhabitants. The AIDA docked at the port terminal in the capital Kingstown at around 8am, having travelled about 84 nautical miles since our last stop at St George’s.
