Together with the mainland bridge of Central America, the Caribbean islands form the Central America between North and South America. The Caribbean islands include the archipelagos of the Greater Antilles (Cuba, Jamaica, Cayman Islands, Jamaica, Haiti, Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico), the Lesser Antilles (including Barbados, St. Kitts, Guadeloupe, Martinique, St. Vincent, Grenada, Trinidad, Aruba, Bonaire, Curacao, etc.) and the Bahamas. Central America includes Belize, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua and Panama.

Today was the start of our 14-day Caribbean cruise with AIDA – away from the cold in Germany and the pre-Christmas stress. Fantastic beaches, great underwater worlds, delicious food and many new adventures are waiting for us. We are looking forward to it! 🙂

Sightseeing flights over cities, landscapes or sights are always something special for us. Whether via Rio de Janeiro, the Iguza Waterfalls, the Victoria Falls in Africa, the Great Barrier Reef in Australia or the Napali Coast in Hawaii – looking at the world from a bird’s eye view fascinates us again and again. One of the places we really wanted to see on our world tour is the Great Blue Hole in Belize.

At 3 o’clock in the night the alarm clock rang today – a terrible time! After picking up our breakfast-to-go at the hotel reception, a taxi took us to the “Aeropuerto Mariscal Sucre”, the international airport of Quito. With the departure from Quito we also say goodbye from South America. We have been touring the continent for 7 weeks and are now looking forward to new adventures in Central and North Americabefore we venture to Hawaii and Australia 🙂
