Today was the start of our 14-day Caribbean cruise with AIDA – away from the cold in Germany and the pre-Christmas stress. Fantastic beaches, great underwater worlds, delicious food and many new adventures are waiting for us. We are looking forward to it! 🙂

If you read the list of islands that AIDA is heading for on the “Caribbean Islands 1” route, you might think it was a dream for a moment: Dominican Republic, Aruba, Curaçao, Bonaire, Grenada, St. Vincent & the Grenadines, Barbados, St. Lucia, Dominica, Guadeloupe, Antigua. To reach eleven islands in 14 days is already a house number. But that was also the reason for us to choose this route. This morning we arrived at the port of Willemstad, the capital of Curacao, at around 7.30 a.m. Curacao, like Aruba and Bonaire, is one of the so-called ABC Islands,with Curacao being the largest of these. The island is located about 65 km off the north coast of Venezuela and thus belongs geographically to South America.

This morning we had already done 3 dives at the wreck of Veronica L and the underwater sculpture park. For us no reason to take a pee, because the capital of Grenada – St. George’s – had to be visited. So after a short shower we went straight on.
