After the start of our cruise in Vancouver and a quiet sea day through the Inside Passage without any sea, we arrived today in the small town of Ketchikan – the first stop of our cruise with Princess Cruises along the coast of Alaska.

The starting point of our 7-day Alaska Cruise with Princess Cruises was Vancouver – in the very west of Canada. Here we landed at the airport at about 10 o’clock in the morning and then had a good 5 hours to explore the city before we had to check in on our cruise ship 🙂

Vernon was the last stop of our river cruise with A-ROSA before we went back to the starting point to the metropolis Of Paris. The small town is picturesquely located in the valley of the Seine, halfway between Rouen and Paris. In addition to visiting an imposing collegiate church and beautiful half-timbered houses in Vernon, we were following in the footsteps of a famous artist in the neighbouring village of Giverny.

The 2nd day of our river cruise with A-ROSA on the Seine took us further upstream to the small town of Caudebec-en-Caux, which is also the westernmost pier of the A-ROSA on the Seine. From here to the mouth of the Atlantic, it is only about 50 kilometres. Caudebec-en-Caux is a relatively small town with about 2,300 inhabitants. As with many communities in Normandy, the name derives from the Old Scandinavian language: Caldebec means ‘cold bach’.
