After we had already explored the city of Luxembourg yesterday in sunny weather, the visit of the city of Trier was scheduled for today. Since Trier is only about 30 minutes from Luxembourg and was on our way home, a sightseeing stop was perfect 🙂

Hamburg – Warehouse district Speicherstadt & Elbphilharmonie (Germany)
After our stay yesterday on board the AIDAperla for the 1st AIDA Barcamp we woke up today in bright sunshine and enjoyed the very tasty hotel breakfast buffet at the 25hours Hotel Hamburg HafenCity. Our train back to Frankfurt was not supposed to leave until 2.30 pm, so we had a few hours for a little sightseeing in Hamburg. So nothing like going on 🙂

Sometimes you don’t have to travel far into the distance to discover new things 🙂 And so we came up with the idea of going to the 75-kilometre-wide town of Speyer to visit the local museum and the cathedral. Both were completely new to us.

On our day tour through the Odenwald today, we first hiked the fairytale trail in the Obrunn Gorge in the morning and noon, looked at Fürstenau Castle, the Einhardsbasilica and the old town of Michelstadt and then walked a little through the alleys of the old town of Erbach. In the early afternoon we continued towards Lautertal to the rocky sea.
