In the mid-2000s, the NewOpenWorld Foundation set itself the goal of defining the so-called “New 7 Wonders of the World”. The election took place in several phases and reached more than 100 million votes cast online, by sms and by telephone. In July 2007, the new 7 wonders of the world were announced in Lisbon as part of an elaborately staged television show. Of these 7 wonders of the world, we have already seen 6. All we are missing is the rock town of Petra 🙂
