The 7,641 islands of the Philippines have more than 100 million inhabitants and are located in the western Pacific Ocean. After Indonesia, Madagascar, Papua New Guinea and Japan, they form the fifth largest island state in the world. The capital is Manila with about 1.8 million inhabitants. The tropical climate is mainly characterized by its proximity to the sea, as no place is further than 200 kilometers from the coast. The Philippines is one of the most species-rich ecosystems in the world and is one of the 17 most biodiverse regions on earth.

Negros Island – PADI Open Water Course at Atmosphere Resort (Philippines)

We first came into contact with the topic of “diving” in 2013 at the Sipadan Kapalai Dive Resort on Borneo. In the resort we did a Discover Scuba Dive for the first time in addition to the daily schoring… and equally seen turtles and an octopus up close. This fascinated us so much that we were determined: we want to make a PADI diving license! 🙂

Today we flew from Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) to Manila (Philippines) at 10.55 am and landed at Ninoy Aquino International Airport at around 2.35pm.
