The island of Negros in the Philippines
Negros Island is located in the southwest of the Visayas archipelago between the islands of Cebu and Panay. Negros has a population of just over 3.6 million and is the largest island in the Visayas with over 13,000 sq km. The main cities of the island are Bacolod City in the north, Kabankalan City in the west and Dumaguete City in the southeast. The topography of the island is determined by the volcanic mountains of the Cuernos de Negros in the southeast and the volcanoes Mandalagan, Kanlaon and Silay in the northern center of the island. With the one in the Mt. Kanlaon Volcano has Negros an active volcano 2435 m high.
Our flight from Manila to Dumaguete
In front of the small airport in Dumaguete you will find many locals who offer transfers to the hotels in the region. We then found a driver who drove us with his tuk tuk and our two suitcases to our hotel Hotel Atmosphere Resort & Spa, about 20 kilometres away. A good 45 minutes later we arrived at our hotel.
