Arusha & our flight to the island of Sansibar (Tanzania)

Categories: Travel reports, Africa, Tanzania

After a late breakfast at the hotel in Arusha we checked out and went together with Sabrina and Sebastian to Simone, a member of the staff of Paradise Safaris, to enjoy the end of the great safari together.

Arusha

The end of our safari

Since our planes go to Sansibar only this afternoon, she kindly invited us to her home. The two other Germans from last night were also there, so we were a nice round. Simone has been working at Paradies Safaris for four months and has previously been in Namibia for several years as part of social projects. Now she has moved to Tanzania and she has created a small idyll here in Arusha. Who can claim to have their own banana forest as a front yard? 🙂

With Losti we took a walk in the surroundings and noticed clearly. 7 light-skinned people with small dog on a leash… the locals couldn’t even decide what was more worth seeing. This part of Arusha is very simple, but offers a little insight into the life of the locals. Sabrina and Sebastian were then taken by a shuttle car to the airport at 3 p.m. and we had three hours left before we were picked up. A few days ago we discovered that we are four in the same hotel in Sansibar. So a quick reunion was called for… what a great coincidence 🙂

Our flight from Kilimanjaro to Zanzibar

We had a bite to eat with Simone in a small local stand and were then picked up by a shuttle at half past seven and taken to Kilimanjaro airport. At 9 p.m. our flight with Precision Air went to Sansibar. In advance, we had arranged a shuttle for Zanzibar Adventure for Zanzibar Adventure for USD 50, which will take us from the flight to our hotel, which is located about 50 km away in the northeast of Zanzibar.

At half past twelve we finally arrived at our Hotel Neptune Pwani Beach Resort & Spa, which is located in the northeast of the island. Now we are looking forward to 7 days of relaxation and a great conclusion to our world tour 🙂
