After our morning cruise in the Seronera area, we set off for the north of the Serengeti in the Lobo area around noon. Our destination was the Lobo Wildlife Lodge.

Hippo horses at the Hippo Pool
Due to the rains of yesterday, the otherwise rather calm river has become a raging stream. As the first stop today we passed the so-called Hippo Pool. It was really funny to see the many hippos playing with each other in the water, fighting or caring for their babies.
Game drive in the Lobo area
In the next 3 hours of the trip we saw again many giraffes, wildebeest, gazelles and also some buffaloes. During a small game drive in the Lobo area we could see a young lion, a puff otter and also many beautiful birds.
Our accommodation Lobo Wildlife Lodge
Around 6 p.m. we arrived at our current accommodation Lobo Wildlife Lodge.
Here we spent a night and the lodge was definitely the most luxurious (but also the most expensive) accommodation. In front of the lodge we received some sweet cliff-sleeping. The rooms are very nicely designed and from the window you have a great view of the surroundings. On the lodge grounds there is a beautiful viewpoint on a rock from which you can observe the surroundings and the sunset. From time to time, monkeys can also meet you. The huge terrace with pool is also ideal for you to linger, as you can also watch the animals in the area from here. For dinner we were served a 5-course menu in the nicely furnished restaurant. Unfortunately, we have to say that the food from our safari chef had tasted better. Luckily, there weren’t many people on the road at the time, so the lodge and restaurant weren’t insanely crowded.
