Travel Reports » Aegean Cruise with Celestyal Cruises (Greece)

Founded in 1986 under the name ‘Louis Cruise Lines’, the Cypriot shipping company was the fifth largest cruise operator in the 1990s. Starting in 2010, the fleet ships were rejuvenated, old models were sorted out and those that remained were given a new paint job. Since the fall of 2014, the shipping company has been operating under the name Celestyal Cruises and today has three cruise ships in operation: Celestyal Olympia, Celestyal Crystal and the Majesty. The program of our Aegean cruise included the destinations Mykonos, Milos, Santorini and Crete – in short: the highlights of the Eastern Mediterranean!

Our fourth stop on our celestyal cruise cruise in the Aegean Sea today was the island’s capital Heraklion (Iraqlio), which is located on the north coast of Crete. We have seen so many photos and reports of the place Oia on Santorini from various bloggers or travelers on Instagram and Facebook in recent years. The pictures of the white village with its blue church domes directly on the steep coast have always delighted us. All the more reason to feel that during our cruise with Celestyal Cruises we had 2 days to explore the island of Santorini and the wonderfully beautiful place Oia.

The island of Santorini (or Santorini) has been on our bucket list for a few years now. So we were very pleased when we saw that the island is on the program as part of our 7-day cruise with Celestyal Cruises through the Aegean Sea. Best of all, the Celestyal Crystal stays on reeds for a full two days compared to other cruise operators. Simply perfect 🙂

The island of Mykonos, home to just under 10,000 inhabitants, is one of the most famous Greek islands in the Aegean Sea and is a popular destination for many tourists. When we got the offer after ITB Berlin to explore a new cruise route in the Greek Aegean with Celestyal Cruises and Discover Greece, we were very happy. Greece, and the Cyclades islands in particular, have long been on our “da-would-we-to-be-still-to-go” list. The program of the new route includes the destinations Mykonos, Milos, Santorini and Crete – in short: the highlights in the eastern Mediterranean, of which we have already seen many pictures of other bloggers on Instagram and Facebook. …
