Today we had to visit our 2nd Galapagos Island after San Cristobal: Santa Cruz. Already in the early morning at 7.15 am our ferry started from Puerto Baquerizo Moreno to Puerto Ayora, where we will spend the next 3 days.

At the beginning of 2014 we had the wish to take a break from our long term jobs and go on a 6 month world trip. After long planning and preparation the adventure began for us on December 15th 2014 in Iceland and took us across the Caribbean to South America, Central America, Hawaii, Australia & New Zealand, the South Seas, on to Asia and finally to Africa. Our goal was to circumnavigate the world in 6 months and see some of the most interesting and significant places on this planet. Today our 10 days ended in the Galapagos Islands. Just in time at 9.30 am today we were picked up by a taxi in our Hotel Fiesta and taken to the airport of Santa Cruz, which is located about 45 km north of Puerto Ayora on the island of Baltra. From here our flight from the Galapagos Islands took off back to the mainland to Quito.

At 3 o’clock in the night the alarm clock rang today – a terrible time! After picking up our breakfast-to-go at the hotel reception, a taxi took us to the “Aeropuerto Mariscal Sucre”, the international airport of Quito. With the departure from Quito we also say goodbye from South America. We have been touring the continent for 7 weeks and are now looking forward to new adventures in Central and North Americabefore we venture to Hawaii and Australia 🙂
