Today we made our way to our last Mayan site of our Yucaatan tour early in the morning. The ruins of Tulum can be found directly on the beautiful Caribbean beach of the Riviera Maya.

After visiting the Mayan site Chichen Itza in the morning we drove back to our hotel, checked out and after that our journey continued to the east. Our current destination is the city of Tulum on the Gulf Coast of Mexico.

Today we had planned two ventures: on the one hand we wanted to look a little in the morning at the center of Merida and in the afternoon we wanted to go to Celestun on the Gulf of Mexico, because there is a lagoon with thousands of Cuban flamingos here π

Sightseeing flights over cities, landscapes or sights are always something special for us. Whether via Rio de Janeiro, the Iguza Waterfalls, the Victoria Falls in Africa, the Great Barrier Reef in Australia or the Napali Coast in Hawaii – looking at the world from a bird’s eye view fascinates us again and again. One of the places we really wanted to see on our world tour is the Great Blue Hole in Belize.

At 3 o’clock in the night the alarm clock rang today β a terrible time! After picking up our breakfast-to-go at the hotel reception, a taxi took us to the “Aeropuerto Mariscal Sucre”, the international airport of Quito. With the departure from Quito we also say goodbye from South America. We have been touring the continent for 7 weeks and are now looking forward to new adventures in Central and North Americabefore we venture to Hawaii and Australia π

Today our 10 days ended in the Galapagos Islands. Just in time at 9.30 am today we were picked up by a taxi in our Hotel Fiesta and taken to the airport of Santa Cruz, which is located about 45 km north of Puerto Ayora on the island of Baltra. From here our flight from the Galapagos Islands took off back to the mainland to Quito.
