The most beautiful photo spots & Instagrammable places in Dubai
The Burj Khalifa
The Burj Khalifa with its 829.8 meters is not only the tallest building in the world at the moment – around the huge skyscraper there are also some of the most beautiful photo opportunities for Instagram. A great photo can be taken of the outdoor area of the Souk Al Bahar. For this you can just walk along the Burj Khalifa Lake, because you actually have a perfect view of the skyscraper from almost everywhere.
The Palace Hotel
One of the most beautiful photo spots of the Burj Khalifa is from the entrance of the Palace Hotel. Here there is a large pool, which is lined with a long jetty and 2 rows of palm trees. We always thought that this spot is exclusively accessible to hotel guests. But access is completely public and free. We recommend a visit in the morning, because on the one hand you have the sun behind you for a perfect photo and on the other hand there is not too much going on at this time.
The Wings of Mexico Statue
Another very well-known photo spot are the “Wings of Mexico” by the Mexican artist Jorge Marin. Also here we were in the early morning and had the angel wings all the time completely for us alone.
The Dubai Steel Heart
Directly at the Dubai Mall on Burj Khalifa Lake is the “Dubai Steel Heart” by master sculptor Richard Hudson. The artist’s three-dimensional “Love me” heart sculpture is made of mirrored steel and has a height of five meters. In total, the sculpture weighs an incredible 7,000 kg. Here, too, a visit in the morning is recommended, as it can be extremely crowded at the outdoor area of the Dubai Mall, especially in the evening hours – when the water games start.
The Dandelions in Burj Park
A truly extraordinary photo spot are the pustules in Burj Park. This spectacular installation is the largest of its kind to date, which is very fitting given its location , next to the tallest building in the world. The sculpture “Dandelions” aims to capture the delicate nature of flowers by using a heavy material – namely metal. In the evening, by the way, the pustules are illuminated in different colors, which looks really great.
The Flower Tunnel at Dubai Miracle Garden
We have seen so many times the great and extraordinary pictures of the Dubai Miracle Garden on Instagram or Facebook. And the most famous motif of the largest flower cooker in the world is certainly the colorful heart tunnel. A walk through the heart-shaped arches, speckled with pink, red, orange and yellow petals, is something very special.
The Emirates aircraft at Dubai Miracle Garden
Another highlight at the Dubai Miracle Garden is a faithful model of an Airbus A380 made of over 500,000 fresh flowers and plants, on which 200 people have worked for almost half a year. For the joint project with the airline Emirates, only flowers and plants from sustainable cultivation were used on the 7,460 square metre site, especially petunias, bunting, student flowers, lion’s mouths, violets, gerania and cockades. The 30 tonne steel structure of the Airbus model is made of recycled materials and is around 73 metres long. The wings of the aircraft have a wingspan of just over 80 meters.
The waterfall in Dubai Mall
The Dubai Mall has been one of the largest shopping malls in the world since it opened in 2009. A popular photo opportunity is the Dubai Waterfall. It spans all four floors of the shopping centre and is a remarkable indoor waterfall with stately dimensions. With a diameter of 30 meters and a height of 24 meters, the artificially built waterfall is a popular photo motif, especially because of the fiberglass sculptures that fall down the cascades like cliff jumpers.
The Souks in Dubai
Souks are the traditional Arab markets where people have been trading for millennia. From spices to gold, perfume to textiles, bags, souvenirs and lamps: the selection is really huge. Especially beautiful as a photo motif are the small shops with the colorful lamps.
The Flower Tree at Dubai Creek Harbour
The flower tree created by the artist Choi Jeong Hwa symbolizes the relationship between the natural world and the man-made realm. The artwork, specially commissioned for Emaar, features local flowers arranged in the artist’s unmistakable style.
The Flamingos at Dubai Creek Harbour
Another well-known photo motif are the three large flamingo statues along the promenade.
The colorful beach houses of La Mer
An optical highlight in La Mer are the colorful beach houses, where the toilets, showers and changing rooms are located. The colorfully painted houses shine in the colors yellow, turquoise, orange and red and are a great photo motif.
The Street art in La Mer
La Mer is one of the best selfie and Instagram spots in town. Everywhere you can find a lot of street art paintings or colorful graffiti with Arabic phrases such as “Yalla Habibi” and “Aloo Keefak” or sayings such as “Hello Summer” or “Stay Cool”.
It is definitely worth walking for some time through the small alleys of The Wharf in the La Mer district. Everywhere you discover new pictures and also recognize here how much love and inventiveness were put into the implementation of the district. Here, too, you’ll find the popular photo motif with the angel wings as a mural, which reminded us a little of the famous Instagram spot in Los Angeles.
The Dubai Frame
The Dubai Frame is a spectacular building in the form of a huge picture frame and is now one of the new landmarks of the city and a popular destination and photo opportunities.
The Dubai Fountain
The Dubai Fountain is a captivating water, music and light spectacle on the 12-acre, man-made Burj Khalifa Lake in central Downtown Dubai. They are the tallest fountain facility in the world and were designed by WET Design, a California-based company that is also responsible for the fountains at the Bellagio Hotel Lake in Las Vegas. The best vantage point on the Dubai Fountain for us was on the promenade of the Souk Al Bahar. The advantage of this position is that you can experience the water games in full width and also have the illuminated Burj Khalifa in the background.
The Giraffes of JBR Street Art
The Dubai Marina also has some beautiful photo spots to offer. Particularly well-known here is the street art on the large staircases that connect “The Walk” with the plaza above. Many of these entrances are decorated with funny and colorful street art paintings. We liked the two wall walls with the giraffes best.
The Hotel Atlantis the Palm
Atlantis the Palm is certainly one of the most famous and exceptional hotels in Dubai. The 5-star resort at the top of the Palm Island is an absolute eye-catcher and a special photo spot. From our point of view, the best view of the Hotel Atlantis is – apart from a helicopter flight – from the opposite bay in the new district of The Pointe.
The Lost Chambers Aquarium
The Lost Chambers Aquarium at Hotel Atlantis is the largest and most famous aquarium in Dubai with its 20 exhibitions on fish and other marine life. The large aquarium alone – the Ambassador Lagoon – holds 11 million litres of seawater, making it one of the 10 largest aquariums in the world. The aquarium is divided into several areas with different sized aquariums. Lobsters, firefish or moray eels, there is always something to discover here. The aquariums with the various jellyfish are also beautiful.
The “Hailight” of the Lost Chambers Aquarium is the view into the large aquarium. The Ambassador Lagoon holds 11 million litres of water and has a depth of 10 metres. In the middle are sunken stairs and magnificent building remains of the fabled Atlantis. Several large windows allow a view into the fascinating underwater world and the 65,000 sea creatures: eagle rays, whitetip reef sharks, grey reef sharks, zebra sharks, rays, tuna, parrotfish, king fish, spiny mackerel, groupers and many other smaller fish species can be found here.
165 marine biology experts take care of this fragile ecosystem day and night. As an enthusiastic diver, this underwater world is always fascinating and beautiful to look at. We could spend hours in front of the slices ❤
The Luxury Hotel Burj Al Arab
For us, the Burj Al Arab is next to the Burj Khalifa the most beautiful building in Dubai and a unique and beautiful hotel with a breathtaking architecture. As a tourist, it is unfortunately not possible to get to the Hotel Burj Al Arab for photos. But there are still a few nice photo spots outside the premises to photograph the extraordinary hotel. A great view of the Burj Al Arab is definitely from the Souk Madinat.

On Google MyMaps we have marked all important sights and attractions in Dubai. Our travelogues from Dubai
Dubai is an insanely diverse city and has quite a few attractions to offer. In our previous vacations, we had gotten to know the city only as a classic "stopover destination". Thereby, we didn't really have much time to explore the many sights of the city. And the desert metropolis is a true photo and Instagram paradise. One motif is more beautiful and spectacular than the other. The tallest building in the world (Burj Khalifa), the largest building in the world in the form of a picture frame (Dubai Frame), the largest shopping center (Dubai Mall), the largest Ferris wheel (Ain Dubai), the largest flower garden (Dubai Miracle Garden), the tallest hotel (Burj Al Arab) to the largest fountain system in the world (The Plam Fountain) and many more.In addition, Dubai has developed so rapidly in recent years, so that we now had enough time to explore the desert metropolis on the Persian Gulf a little better due to a longer vacation. Here you can find our travel reports about the city of superlatives.
