We had been looking forward to today’s excursion, because from Praslin we went to the private island Of Félicité Island, where we were allowed to spend a nice day in the luxury resort Six Senses Zil Pasyon.

Félicité Island’s small scales
The Island of Bliss is the fifth largest island in the Seychelles and measures 2.68 square kilometers. Until the 1970s, today’s private island was a coconut plantation with a population of just 50 people. In the late 19th century, Félicité was the home of Sultan Abdullah of Perak, who was accused of murder and exiled by the British on Félicité Island – only years later he was released. In 2007, the Seychelles government granted a 99-year lease for the then uninhabited island, which was taken over by a Singapore-based real estate developer in 2013. The Six Senses Zil Pasyon Resort was built here within three years.
Félicité Island is one of the so-called “satellite islands” of La Digue, with its neighbouring islands of Ile Cocos, Les Soeurs and Marianne. Only 1 km from Félicité, the dream island of Ile Cocos and the surrounding sea area (“Ile Cocos Marine National Park”) have been protected since 1996 and are among the most beautiful snorkeling and diving spots in the Inner Seychelles.
Getting to Félicité Island
The private island of Félicité Island is located about 55 km northeast of Mahé and about 4 km northeast of La Digue in the Indian Ocean. It can be reached from all three major Seychelles islands by several routes:
» La Digue: 10 minutes by boat
» Praslin: 15 minutes by boat (approximately 180 USD per person each way)
» Mahé: 20 minutes private flight by helicopter (approximately 900 USD each way for up to 4 people with Zil Air)or domestic flight to Praslin (25 minutes) and from there by boat
We had the opportunity to use a Six Senses Resort staff boat from Praslin Ferry Port at 8.45 in the morning, which is a staff boat that also takes technicians to the island. All in all, we were six and roared together within 15 minutes to Félicité Island.
The luxury resort Six Senses Zil Pasyon
On Félicité Island there is only one resort, the Six Senses Zil Pasyon, which occupies less than 1/3 of the entire island. The rest of the island is natural, there is no other hotel far and wide.

The hotel complex
On the north coast of Félicité, the Six Senses Zil Pasyon blends harmoniously into nature. During the construction, an attempt was made to affect nature as little as possible and to preserve much of the tropical environment and the granite rocks typical of the Seychelles. Already eight years before the opening, the original vegetation was restored. On a hiking trail into the interior of the island you can still get to know the varied, endemic nature of the island.
With just 30 pool villas and 3 private residences, you can experience absolute privacyhere in the resort, at the same time you can pass the time with various sports activities (diving, snorkeling, kayaking, stand up paddling, strength and relaxation courses, fitness center, bike rental) and a wide range of wellness and spa offers.
In addition, there is a culinary catering that is unparalleled. Various restaurants and bars meet every need – from breakfast to all-inclusive, romantic dinner, in-villa dining, an exclusive wine cellar and free ice cream 24 hours a day. At a delicious lunch in the “Ocean Kitchen” restaurant, where there are only fish and vegetarian dishes, we were able to convince ourselves of the quality. And what are we to say? It was super tasty and the view fantastic.
By the way, sustainability is very important in the Six Senses Zil Pasyon. For example, water is only available in glass bottles produced on the island. Or a private garden where most of the herbs, vegetables and fruit are grown. In addition, an attempt is made to avoid plastic as much as possible.
Sun lovers will find various places in the resort to make themselves comfortable with a refreshing drink under blue skies: be it on a comfortable lounger by the large pool, in the hammocks on the beach or on the private terrace. And for the perfect end to the day, it’s best to secure a place in the hammocks at the bar to watch a movie classic on a big screen under the stars – fresh popcorn including 😉
The pool villas
Six Senses Zil Pasyon has 28 one-bedroom pool villas and 2 two-bedroom pool villas. The total of 30 pool villas differ salyated in size, location and views. Guests can choose from 6 different types of rooms – everything from the 175 m2 Hideaway Pool Villa to the 440 m2 Two-Bedroom Pool Villa. But what they all have in common is the seclusion, the tropical environment, great views of the ocean, a private infinity pool and its own butler service. A small highlight is hidden in the bathrooms: here hangs a swing from the ceiling, which would make the bathrooms – as we were told – the
top Instagrammable bathrooms
worldwide. What’s not there 😉 Prices for the villas start at 2,000 EUR per room/night including breakfast.
The Zil Pasyon Residences
Just WOW – what else we couldn’t think of at first, when we entered one of the 3 Zil Pasyon Residences. We were just speechless, because we had never seen such a huge and luxurious hotel accommodation before. The residences have a size of 733 m2 to an incredible 1,416 m2. The fact that they are intended for very well-heeled guests is also noticeable by the price: Up to 18,000 EUR you pay for an overnight stay!
The Residences – Six Senses Zil Pasyon
The highlight of the residences was definitely the large pool with plexiglass floor on the top floor, which you can see shimmering through the living room below. Just madness. In addition, the residences trump with all sorts of other amenities: a second pool on the ground floor, a private wine cellar, 24h butler service, a private kitchen for guests who bring their own chef and much more.
The Six Senses Spa
The impressive Six Senses Spa area is located on and between towering rocks and offers a wide range of holistic wellness and beauty treatments. The spa has five individual villas, sauna and steam cabins as well as a yoga and meditation pavilion, all of which are beautifully integrated into the rock formations and nature. We particularly liked the elevated saltwater pool in the open air, from which you have a fantastic view of the surroundings. We would have liked to have had our drone climbed here, but unfortunately this was not possible to protect the guests. Super a pity!

The beaches
If you want even more privacy, you can go to one of the resort beaches, because often you won’t find a single guest here. In total there are 4 natural beaches with fine sand: Anse Peniche, Anse Parc, Anse La Cour and Grand Anse. We spent the afternoon at Anse La Cour and let our souls dangle here. A special feature of the resort’s beaches is that turtles nest here every year. The nesting season is usually from October to February and we could actually see some nests, but unfortunately no small turtle babies.
At 3.30 p.m. we went back to Praslin by boat – with us a lot of impressions. It was a wonderful day on Félicité Island and we are very grateful that we were able to take a look at the resort ❤
