On the way from San Francisco to Lake Tahoe, halfway through the capital of California is the cityof Sacramento . It takes only 1.5 hours from San Francisco for the approximately 150-kilometer stretch of Interstate 80. Due to the evening traffic and longer traffic jams, it took us about 3 hours the night before. Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco – Things to know & Photo spots (USA)

It is THE landmark of San Francisco and probably the most famous suspension bridge in the world: The Golden Gate Bridge. Since 1937, it has been the entrance to San Francisco Bay and connects San Francisco with Marin County, the Napa and Sonoma Valleys. The bridge was named after the 1.6 km wide, natural entrance to the Bay of San Francisco. At the time of the California gold rush, the bay entrance was named “Golden Gate” around 1846.

Calgary – Stopover at the Airport Marriott In-Terminal Hotel (Canada)

Today was departure day and for us we went from Hawaii via Canada back to Frankfurt. Two weeks of island hopping are over and we fly home with great memories like the Lava Hike on Big Island, the Koko Crater Railway Trail on Oahu or the sunrise on the Haleakala on Maui.
