New York is a state on the Atlantic coast of the USA. Most of the times, one rather thinks about the city of the same name, but it is actually called “New York City”. With an area of more than 140,00 km² and about 20 million inhabitants, New York is the fourth most populous state of the USA after California, Texas and Florida. The capital of New York is Albany, the largest city is New York City and other major cities are Buffalo, Rochester, Yonkers and Syracuse. The most famous sights of the state are, besides New York City and LOng Island, certainly Niagara Falls and the Thousand Islands with Boldt Castle.
