After driving a beautiful panoramic road on the Pacific Ocean of California yesterday with the 17-Mile Drive, we made our way to Los Angeles today on Highway 1.

After doing a Whale Watching Tour in Monterey Bay this morning and then visiting the Monterey Bay Aquarium, we used the rest of the day to drive off the 17-Mile Drive. After 2 really great days in Yosemite National Park, our tour through California continued back to california’s Pacific coast. The 300 km long stretch from Mariposa to Monterey (approx. 3.5 hours drive) is not very exciting.

After visiting the ghost town of Bodie in the morning, we set off for Yosemite National Park at around 12 o’clock. The eastern entrance of the park at Tioga Pass is only about an hour away from Bodie. On the way there we made a short stop at Mono Lake.

On the way from San Francisco to Lake Tahoe, halfway through the capital of California is the cityof Sacramento . It takes only 1.5 hours from San Francisco for the approximately 150-kilometer stretch of Interstate 80. Due to the evening traffic and longer traffic jams, it took us about 3 hours the night before. This morning we wanted to use to explore downtown Sacramento.
