Arrival & Entry in Malaysia
To enter Malaysia, German citizens only need a passport, which must be valid for at least six months. Upon arrival at the airport, a three-month visitor visa is issued. Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) is located about 44 kilometers south of the capital. The easiest and fastest way to get to the city is on the Klia Express. The 57-kilometre journey to Kuala Lumpur Central Station takes 28 minutes and costs RM 55.00 (one way = €12) or as a return ticket RM 100.00. Trains run every 15 or 20 minutes, depending on the time.

Our hotel in the center of Kuala Lumpur
We chose the Impiana KLCC Hotel for 2 nights, which is very centrally located near the main railway station and the Petronas Towers.
The Petronas Twin Towers
The Petronas Towers are the tallest twin towers in the worldat 452 meters. In Untergeschoos, the Suria KLCC is one of the largest shopping centres in Malaysia. At a height of 172 metres (between the 41st and 42nd floor) both towers are connected by a steel bridge (the so-called Skybridge).
The water and light show in KLCC Park
In the evening we went to the 20 hectare KLCC Park (Kuala Lumpur City Center) at the foot of the Petronas Towers. Every day around noon (12pm-2pm) and in the evening (6pm-11pm) there is a small water and light show on classical music on the Lake Symphony (Lake Symphony’s Dancing Fountains). In the background, the skyscrapers of Kuala Lumpur form an impressive backdropto the up to 42 meters high colorful water show.
The Rooftop Bar Marini’s On 57
In the evening we met with friends who emigrated to Kuala Lumpur and ate something at Marini’s On 57 with a fantastic view of the twin towers.
Starbucks Global Icon City Mug of Kuala Lumpur
We are collecting the Starbucks Mugs from the cities and islands we visit on our travels. Unfortunately, not every city that has a Starbucks store with an own mug. But if the city has an own mug we like to collect them as a souvenir. We only collect city mugs from the "Global Icon Series", which was released in 2008. You can see our complete collection here: Starbucks - Our collection of Mugs from the Global Icon SeriesKuala Lumpur has several Starbucks stores and also its own beautiful coffee cup 🙂
