Hong Kong - Peak Tram & the viewpoint from Victoria Peak

After we walked a little the day before through the northern part of the city, today we wanted to see the city from above. And this is best done from one of Hong Kong’s most famous sights: the 552-metre-high Victoria Peak!

Der Victoria Peak in Hong Kong

Victoria Peak is Hong Kong’s most famous mountain, with a height of 552 metres. Situated on Hong Kong Island, it is also the highest elevation of this island, but is clearly surpassed by the 958 meter high Tai Mo Shan located in the New Territories. Its Chinese name, Tai Ping Shan, means “Mountain of Great Peace”. The summit offers a wide view over Kowloon and large parts of the island of Hong Kong.

After we went back by tram to the valley station “Garden Road Peak Tram Terminus”, we walked a little through the district Central, the financial and business center of Hong Kong.
