After swimming with sea lions this morning we went on to Imhoff Farm in the small town of Kommetjie. Here we had booked a horse ride on the beautiful beach of Noordhoek.

The Imhoff Farm
First we got to know “our” horses and were able to get acquainted with them. A few minutes later we started. So nothing like up on the horse!
Riding on the beach of Noordhoek
We were a small group with two riding instructors who accompanied us. First we went from the farm over beautifully green meadows until we arrived at the 8 km long, white sandy beach of Noordhoek. The name of the beach is of Dutch origin and means “Nordecke”. The sight was simply magnificent: while we rode slowly on the horses, we looked at the deserted beach, the sea and the mountains in the background. Sometimes we went along the sea and sometimes in the middle of it. There can hardly be a more beautiful place for such a ride 🙂
The beach, which often has the name “Long Beach”, is deserted on many days. Even today we had only seen a few walkers with their dogs. Whether you’ve never sat on a horse, you’re a beginner or you’re already advanced, the Imhoff Equestrian Centre offers the 1 3/4-hour rides for everyone.
