On the 3rd day of our safari through Kruger National Park we drove from Olifants Restcamp further north to The Shingwedzi Restcamp.
The detailed travel report to the Kruger National Park (Shingwedzi Restcamp) will be delivered. But we have already uploaded the pictures. If there are any specific questions about the pictures or destination, please post a comment at the end of the post.

Kruger National Park
Kruger National Park is the largest wildlife refuge in South Africa, with a north-south area of about 350 kilometers and an area of about 20,000 square kilometers. The reserve was established in 1898 under President Paul Kruger as the “Sabie Game Reserve” for the protection of the wilderness. The park is home to 147 species of mammals, over 500 species of birds, 114 reptile species, 49 species of fish and 34 amphibian species.
A really good overview map of the Kruger National Park can be downloaded here.

The Shingwedzi Restcamp
In May 2014 we stayed for a night in the Shingwedzi Restcamp, because we wanted to cross the whole Kruger National Park. The camp is fenced. We had our own hut (with grass roof) and were able to park our car right next to it. The accommodation was simple, but was perfectly fine for one night. The grounds are generously designed with restaurant, shop, swimming pool and gas station.
