Visiting a village of the Amazon native population

At noon we made a trip to a small village of the indigenous people of the Amazon. Here we were shown several dances and told a lot about the culture and the living conditions of the population.

Piranha fishing in the Amazon

After a short breefing of Roy (“How to fish best“) we went out today with a small boat to the Rio Negro. In a good place we should try fishing at piranha – but unfortunately no fish wanted to bite today. Nevertheless, we all enjoyed it 🙂 A little later we met a fisherman who at least showed us his piranha catch.

A Priranha in the Amazon

When we were back at our Anavilhanas Village Lodge, there was a great sunset in the Amazon. At the end of our Stay in the Amazon, Roy grilled us something delicious.

Roy attaches great importance to the fact that he runs his Anavilhanas Village Lodge completely ecologically. This means that the electricity is only generated from solar energy and the water is completely recycled. And even if the guesthouse is really very simple and you have to get used to the hygienic conditions first, we enjoyed our time with Roy and his family very much. He and his wife Antonia really made a lot of effort to make our stay in the Amazon as authentic as possible and we got to know a lot of the local culture and food.

Reiseberichte Brasilien » Rio de Janeiro: Copacabana, Ipanema & Cristo Redentor
