By boat to the “Recanto Do Boto”
Today we went with a small boat to the “Recanto do Boto”, a small hut in the Amazon, where you can see the pink river dolphins, among other things.
The “Recanto Do Boto” is located in a small southern side arm of the Rio Negro.
The pink Amazon dolphins “Botos”
The Amazon dolphin, also known as Boto, is a river dolphin in South America. It can grow up to 3 meters long and its color changes with age: kittens are silver-grey, older Amazon dolphins turn pink. Actually, we find that dolphins are beautiful animals. Whether the Amazon dolphin may also be included, however, we question. His head is rounded, the long muzzle clearly detached from him. The eyes are tiny and atrophied, but they are still functional. These dolphins are actually only available in the Amazon. We stood on a small platform in the water and a guide attracted the dolphins with fish.
But we could not swim with the dolphins (as it actually was in the tour description), but could only touch them briefly and watch them feeding.
