As beautiful as the last few days have been… Exmouth was unfortunately our last stop on our journey through Western Australia. Now it was time for us again: back to Perth! And here we wanted to visit the Yanchep National Park, where you can find a lot of koalas.

Western Australia is the westernmost and also the largest state of Australia and with a land area of over 2,500,00 km² makes up about one third of the entire continent. We had already done 2 dives on the southern part of Ningaloo Reef in Coral Bay. Since we wanted to dive the Ningaloo Reef again in another place, we booked another 2 dives at the Exmouth Diving Center for today.

After breakfast we left today at half past nine. The first stop on our way was the Hutt Lagoon after about 300 kilometers – a pink lake that gets its color from beta-carotene-producing algae.

Today, unfortunately, Perth didn’t show its best side – when we got up, the streets were wet and it was a bit sultry. So we quickly packed up our belongings, checked out at the hotel, quickly got into our car and drove north to Lancelin 🙂

After a good 10 hours of flying from Dubai with an Airbus A380 from Emirates, we arrived in Perth in Western Australia in the early evening. Greater Perth is home to about 2 million people and the nearest major city, Adelaide, is more than 2000 kilometres away.
