After we had already visited Waimea Canyon in the morning, our island tour continued along the east coast of Kauai to the north.

The Blowhole at Spouting Horn Beach Park
The next stop we made at Spouting Horn Beach Park on the south coast of the island, whose main attraction is a saltwater geyser. The surf flows here into a natural lava vent, from which loudly high water fountains splash every few seconds in strong waves.

Near Wailua on kauai’s east coast, we looked at Wailua Falls.
The north coast of Kauai
The further route of road 56 led us past many beach parks and viewpoints, such as Kilauea Point with lighthouse and the Hanalei National Wildlife Refuge. When we reached the end of the one-way path in the northwest of the island with Haena Beach Park, it has already dawned and we made our way back to Lihue.

Our world trip led us after almost 2 months from the American mainland to Hawaii. Situated in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, 3,600 kilometres away from the US mainland, the 50th state of the USA. For many, it is the epitome of the South Seas. During our two-week stay in Hawaii we visited four of the six main islands: Kauai, O'ahu, Maui and Big Island. Each of these islands has its own personality, nature and sights and offers different activities for all tastes: From the big city Honolulu with the famous Waikiki Beach, the fascinating Waimea Canyon and the breathtaking Napali Coast on Kauai, the famous Road to Hana on Maui to the most active volcano in the world on Big Island. The islands radiate a unique flair and have enchanted us very quickly with the famous Aloha charm.
